Biography: Francisco Bayeu was the brother-in-law of Goya, his most famous work being a portrait of his famous relative. Bayeu worked as court painter to Charles IV and also directed the Academy of San Fernando. In addition to portraiture, Bayeu also did decorative work, notably as a tapestry designer for the royal tapestry factory where he became director in 1777.
