Biography: Lancelot Blondeel worked mostly in Bruges where he joined the painter’s guild in 1519. He worked as a printmaker, architect, cartographer, civil engineer, and designer of sculpture and tapestries. In 1550, he and Jan van Scorel were commissioned to restore the Ghent altarpiece done by the Van Eycks.
