Biography: Born Evelyn Pickering, she married famous potter, ceramicist, and fellow painter, William De Morgan in 1887. She was inspired by the work of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Renaissance artists such as Botticelli. She initially painted mostly literary subjects, but produced several allegorical paintings during World War I.
