Biography: Born in Hlebine, Yugoslavia Ivan Generalic was a member of a group of painters based in his hometown. Most of his paintings are scenes of village life but he also did portraits, landscapes, and still-lifes. He often painted on glass. After World War Two, he became internationally known as one of the best naïve painters.
