Biography: Guglielmo Giraldi was the son of tailor and eventually became one of the leading illuminators for Renaissance ruling families. He worked on commissions in Ferrara, one of which was a set of choir books for the Carthusian monastery and the Bible of Borso d’Este. Giraldi moved to Urbino in 1474 and worked for the Duke of Frederigo da Montefeltro. Giraldi also painted miniatures that showed influence of Piero della Francesca and Cosimo Tura.
