Biography: Armand Guillaumin was a secondary figure in the Impressionist movement. He first supported himself working for the department of bridges and causeways. In 1891, he won a lottery and was able to devote his time to painting. Guillaumin mostly painted industrial scenes and seascapes. Of all the artists who participated in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874, Guillaumin was the last to die, passing away one year after Monet.
