Biography:
Pieter Cornelisz. Kunst was the oldest son of a prominent Leiden painter, Cornelis Engebrechtsz. His fellow pupil and 16th century leading engraver, Lucas van Leyden, also influenced him. His first recorded work is a glass window completed in 1516 for a cloister. Cornelisz. Lived in Bruges for two years before returning to Leiden to design a pulpit for the Saint Pieterskerk. None of his paintings are known, but he also created stained-glass windows, maps, and furniture.
