Biography:
Born in Melbourne, Frederick McCubbin’ s initial paintings depicted pioneer life. He was a member of the Heidelberg School in the 1890’s. He made a visit to Europe in 1906 and was influenced by Impressionism. He also taught drawing at the Melbourne National Gallery School from1886 until his death.
