Biography: Melozzo came from Forli in Romagna, however he worked mostly in Loreto, Rome, and Urbino. He held a high standing reputation during his career, but very few of his paintings have survived. His method of painting was much like that of Piero della Francesca and he was noted for his mastery of perspective and illusionism.
