Biography:
Constantin Meunier was influenced to become an artist by his brother who was an engraver. He entered the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels in 1845 and studied sculpture first but eventually turned to painting. He also began the Societe Libre des Beaux-Arts in 1868.
