Biography:
Dr. Thomas Monro was a physician primarily, but was also an art collector, patron and painter. He supported many of the watercolorists of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, including De Wint, Girtin, Cotman, and Turner among others. These painters often used his homes in London and Herforshire as subjects for their paintings
