Biography: Georges Trubert began working at the court of Duke Rene I of Anjou in Provence in 1467. He was given the honor of Valet de Chambre and was given the means to travel to Rome. After Rene’s death in 1480, Trubert continued to work in Provence but later began working for Rene’s grandson, Rene II, duke of Lorraine. Trubert’s only surviving works were Christian devotional manuscripts.
