Biography:
Adriaen van de Velde studied with his father Willem van de Velde the Elder before working with a landscapist in Haarlem. He produced his first known work in 1653 and returned to his hometown of Amsterdam in 1657. He produced prints, paintings, and drawings, often done in a small scale and depicting landscapes with views of the ocean and figures.
